I've finally caught up on all the episodes of Girls, although I don't know why it took me so long. Each episode is only half an hour long, and there have only been two seasons so far (ten episodes each).

Marnie, Hannah, Jessa, and Shoshanna (from left to right) showing support for Charlie and Ray's band at their show.
For those who don't know, Girls is a show on HBO about four girls in their twenties, trying to work through the difficult transition into adulthood. The show is well-known for it realistic portrayal of the struggles that girls through during that time of their life. Lena Dunham is the creator of the show, and also plays the main role of Hannah Horvath. I actually really dislike Hannah, for she is a selfish, arrogant, and just downright crazy. Because of her flaws in character, she caused many disturbances in her relations with friends and family, and I feel that the reason why she was brought to her mental downfall by the end of the second season. At that point, I started feeling bad for her because her parents were growing sick of her, her friends were dealing with their own issues, and acquaintances were calling her a horrible person. That's why the return of Adam by her side was actually quite relieving and heartwarming.

Adam runs to Hannah's place when he realizes she is mentally breaking down into a state of misery.
I think Adam and Hannah fit well with each other because they're both really weird. I hated Hannah for being stupid and ruining her relationship with him, and I'm hoping that they get back together in the third season (although that might be kind of boring to watch). Aside from Hannah, there's Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna. Marnie is Hannah's best friend, Jessa is a close second bestie, and Shoshanna is Jessa's cousin. They each have their own styles, quirks, and flaws that make them very different from each other, yet inherently connected.

Skylar Astin and Donald Glover were notable and surprising cameos in the first and second season, respectively. I wonder what other cameos there will be in the following season. I must say though that I have grown a really weird obsession with Skylar Astin lately and I am hoping for the return of his character on the show. It's totally possible - Shoshanna could bump into him again! =P

What I really like about this show is the soundtrack! They place the soundtrack perfectly in conjunction with the scenes in a way that keeps the show feeling light and quirky despite the dark and depressing feel of it all. I find myself looking up the songs and listening to them again after certain episodes. Anyway, despite how much I dislike Hannah, I find myself wanting to know what happens to the girls in the next season so I am definitely anticipating the third season!

I used to be on YouTube for hours on end, just watching clips of The Ellen Degeneres Show (she's awesome). However, this week I've been doing that with clips from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I have grown a weird obsession with him, and have even gone way back to watching some stuff he used to do on SNL. I even stumbled across his opening act for 2002 MTV VMA's! So crazy how that was over a decade ago, but I actually remember it because of his awesome & hilarious celebrity impressions! Speaking of his celebrity impressions, they're the best!

Anyway, here are some of my favourite clips from the show.

1) The Evolution of Dad Dancing
It's funny because I think I do some of these dance moves in real life myself. -_-"

2) "Yodel" with Jimmy Fallong & Brad Pitt
Posted most recently, I have no clue why I can't stop watching this. I don't think it's because of Brad Pitt, but rather it might be because of the yodeling itself. Cracked me up.

3) Adam Levine Does His Best Aaron Neville
Not only is this awesome because it's Adam Levine (so hot), but I also love Jimmy's reaction the second Adam started singing. The harmonizing at the end is awesome!

4) History of Rap with Justin Timberlake
And of course, the infamous History of Rap! I personally like the original History of Rap and History of Rap 2 the best. Unfortunately, I can't find a clip of the original one anywhere but here's History of Rap 2, 3 and 4.

I could keep posting more clips (you can see just how I spend hours watching this stuff) but I really should stop. By the way, I'm sure other people see this too and that I am not the first to think this, but Jimmy Fallon looks like Josh Radnor!

I just finished watching the Spartacus series from STARZ. I was instantly hooked from the beginning to the very end. I didn't know this when I first started watching the show, but Spartacus' story actually happened in ancient Roman history (around 71 BC). That meant that the eventual ending of the show was inevitable, but the three seasons and miniseries it took to get there was worth it.

I first heard of the show Spartacus when Andy Whitfield tragically passed two years ago. If I was a fan of the show back then, I would have been very saddened by the news. After one season as Spartacus, in my heart, Andy Whitfield is Spartacus. He captured his emotions so beautifully - showing vulnerability in some scenes and hardened resolve in the next.

The rest of the cast is also great. (Including Liam McIntyre who had to replace Andy Whitfield.) Every character had a story to tell and a role to play in this story that will forever have its place in the history books.

*Note: This show is very violent and gory.

I didn't know Cinemax made original series, but I'm glad I stumbled upon Banshee. Banshee is about a man who was recently released from serving fifteen years in prison. He goes to this fictional town called Banshee to look for his ex-partner (and girlfriend) while also hiding from the Ukrainian mob boss he angered before being sent to prison. After a series of events, he finds himself taking the identity of the town's new sheriff, Lucas Hood, who was killed.

Banshee is a pretty unique town. It has an Amish population, some white rednecks, and a Native Indian tribe. That makes this town a perfect place for politics, secrets and drama.

And by the way, did I mention that Lucas Hood looks like this?
