No X Factor post this week because I have nothing new to say about the remaining contestants but I have something even better. A new Top 10 TV's Hottest Guys list! I made sure to change things up and choose different guys from my original Top 10 list. It was tempting to include Alex O'Loughlin and Gabriel Macht again though.

The majority of my picks were unintentionally "bad boys". I guess I have a type when it comes to television characters. They also all seem to share the annoying trait of not being photogenic. These photos don't do them justice - you don't know how hard it was to find decent pictures for this post.

10. Adam Noshimuri, Hawaii Five-0 (Ian Anthony Dale)
He's a mix of Japanese, French, and English. Can it get any better than that? I've finally accepted the fact that Kono and Steve are not going to be getting together on Hawaii Five-0 so I approve of Adam with Kono. With Adam as head of the Hawaii Yakuza and Kono as a member of Five-0, it's no doubt that I would love the two of them being together. I'm all for couples that shouldn't be together. Things are going to get pretty interesting (and hot) with Daniel Henney playing Adam's brother.


9. Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad (Aaron Paul)
Is there anyone who watches Breaking Bad that doesn't like Jesse?? I just want to give him a hug and take away all his pain and suffering. Please tell me he gets a happy ending in the series finale next year. I have a feeling I'm not going to get what I want...


8. Ryan York, Parenthood (Matt Lauria)
Oh man, it was SO hard to find good pictures of Matt Lauria. I had to resort to Twitter pics! I liked him on Friday Night Lights and damn, he has grown from a boy to a man since then. I love him on Parenthood with Amber. Those two are going to put me through a relationship roller coaster. I also think it's so cute that Mae Whitman is a huge FNL fan. She gets to date Luke Cafferty!


7. Danny Castellano, The Mindy Project / Reese Lansing, The Newsroom (Chris Messina)
It's impossible to find a picture that accurately shows off Chris Messina's hotness! He's my absolute favourite character on The Mindy Project. I love that he tries to act like he's tough and doesn't care about anyone but you know he's actually a softie. He also reads the Hunger Games trilogy :)


6. Wade Kinsella, Hart of Dixie (Wilson Bethel)
He's got an incredibly hot bod and there's definitely no shortage of showing it off on Hart of Dixie but I have to say, I think he actually looks hotter with clothes on. In the beginning of the series, I was all for Zoe and George to be together (gotta support FNL alum) but I'm definitely on the Zoe/Wade team now. I'm all for opposites attracting.


5. Sam Kendal, Last Resort (Scott Speedman)
This guy got hotter with age. It sucks that Last Resort got cancelled because it was definitely a treat to see his gorgeous face on TV every week. The fact that he grew up in Toronto, went to Earl Haig, and studied at University of Toronto and York University makes me love him even more.


4. Seth, Misfits (Matthew McNulty)
I'm a few episodes behind on Misfits but I'm praying he doesn't leave the show anytime soon. All the good characters are gone! Seth is one of the few reasons I still watch Misfits. First Simon and Alisha's relationship ended in heartbreak and now Seth and Kelly too. This show is messing with my heart. At least there's still the bromance between Seth and Rudy.


3. Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead (Norman Reedus)
Norman Reedus is the perfect example of dirty hot. He's on the border of looking like white trash and yet there's an allure. I can't explain it. I'm both repulsed and turned on looking at him. The Walking Dead can continue killing off characters as long as Daryl is safe. Don't kill him please!!


2. Leo Morrison, American Horror Story / Himself, The Voice (Adam Levine)
Okay, I cheated a little since Adam Levine is more of a singer than an actor but he is technically on TV! I was never that attracted to him in the past but then he got a sleeve of tattoos and he's actually entertaining on The Voice! It's weird - I'm totally into entire sleeves of tattoos but guys with tattoos scattered here and there don't do it for me.


1. Jax Teller, Sons of Anarchy (Charlie Hunnam)
Charlie Hunnam is definitely one of those guys who is more attractive in motion. Only he can make me want to be with a biker dude. Jax is also one of the few guys who manages to look attractive with long, greasy hair. Him and Tim Riggins.

There are certain episodes of New Girl where I can't stand Jess. This episode was one of them. Jess finds out from her lesbian gynecologist friend that by the time a woman hits 30, most people lose 90% of her eggs. Fertility goes down the drain, uh oh! Cue dramatic overreaction! Like, throwing out the MICROWAVE? Really? Calm down there, honey. Her overreaction was totally understandable but it felt so exaggerated that I did not feel sad or worried for her. Quite honestly, from the beginning, I wasn't a big fan of the show. I think I only kept watching it for the other characters because I'm more interested in their story lines if anything, which is kind of strange since the show is supposed to be about her.

Show comparison: I just caught up on one of the new shows, The Mindy Project. My co-bloggers didn't seem too enthusiastic about it but I definitely like that show tons more than New Girl at the moment. I'm not saying New Girl is horrible, I'm just saying it's not impressing me. I'm not saying The Mindy Project is impressive, I'm just saying it's better than New Girl. Nevertheless, I will keep watching both shows - keeping low expectations for Jess, and high hopes for Mindy!

It's that time of the year again! TV junkies all over the world are faced with one big question: Which new shows do I keep and which ones should I kick to the curb? I don't usually give many first-year shows a try. I wait to hear comments from other people after about halfway through the season. So it's a little surprising that I've started three new shows this year already. Although that doesn't mean all three shows will survive...

Go On
I admit that this won't be a fair assessment of this show. I've always had a soft spot for Matthew Perry ever since falling in love with Chandler from Friends. After that, I watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Mr. Sunshine - anything to support Matthew Perry. Go On is about radio personality Ryan King, who recently lost his wife. To deal with his grief, he joins a support group filled with wacky personalities. At first, the characters might seem a little crazy and over-the-top, but the more you get to know them, the funnier and less crazy they get.
Verdict: Keep for now. But don't get too attached because Matthew Perry shows all die anyway.

I'm a big fan of Kelly Kapoor on The Office and after reading "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" I wanted nothing more than Mindy Kaling to be my best friend so when news broke that she was starting her own show, I was definitely excited. I really wanted to love the pilot of The Mindy Project and don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, it sadly just wasn't as amazing as I was hoping it would be. There's something about it that made me feel like it was trying too hard to be cute and quirky. She reminded me a little of Zooey Deschanel on New Girl and unfortunately, Zooey is my least favourite part of that show (I would totally be happy if New Girl continued on with just the guys). That being said, it was just the pilot and The Mindy Project is still trying to figure out the type of show it wants to be. I did really love Chris Messina though and I have faith in Mindy Kaling to bring the laughs.


As much as I hate to say it, I have a feeling Partners won't make it through their first season. Hopefully I get proved wrong. Michael Urie's schtick as the witty, sarcastic gay friend worked wonderfully on Ugly Betty and the humourous sarcasm he brought to the Broadway performance of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" was much needed on the live stage but on Partners, his high-energy, joking personality came off as highly annoying. It needed to be toned down a notch or ten... There was also no chemistry between Sophia Bush and David Krumholtz. I'm sorry, but I can't buy them as a legit couple. The show does have the fortunate spot of being on Mondays at 8:30pm when I have nothing else to watch so I'll give it a few more episodes. 

Now that the trailers are up for the new fall shows, here's the ones I'm planning on giving a try:

The Mindy Project, Tuesdays at 9:30pm on FOX
I love Mindy Kaling so even though the trailer wasn't as funny as I was hoping, I still gotta support her. It helps that it's on after The New Girl since it'll probably appeal to the same audience. My prediction (if the show lasts long enough) - Mindy's character will end up dating the "mean" doctor.


The Mob Doctor, Mondays at 9pm on FOX
This isn't the type of show I would usually get into but there's Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) and Jordana Spiro (My Boys)! I'm not sure how well it will do but mobsters + hospitals might be an interesting mix. 


Nashville, Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC
Zero points for creativity - this show is almost an exact replica of the movie, Country Strong. But with Connie Britton as the lead, I have to give it a shot. I've got a soft spot for all the Friday Night Lights alumni. I can already see myself hating on the bitchy Hayden Panettiere.


Partners, Mondays at 8:30pm on CBS
Michael Urie essentially plays the same character as he did on Ugly Betty but I'm not complaining, I loved Marc St. James. Also, yay Sophia Bush! I have nothing else to watch on Mondays at 8:30 and it's easy to give a half hour sitcom a chance.


Elementary, Thursdays at 10pm on CBS
I haven't watched BBC's Sherlock Holmes yet so I can't compare the two but from this trailer, I like Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock Holmes. The fact that Watson is played by Lucy Liu is an interesting change too. As long as the two of them have a good dynamic, I think the show might do well. Thursdays is a tough day though. (Sidenote: I don't know who decided to move Glee to Thursdays but that was a terrible idea. They're already losing viewers and now they have to compete against Grey's Anatomy, The Office, and Parks & Recreation. Obviously, Glee is off my TV list now.)
