I didn't know Cinemax made original series, but I'm glad I stumbled upon Banshee. Banshee is about a man who was recently released from serving fifteen years in prison. He goes to this fictional town called Banshee to look for his ex-partner (and girlfriend) while also hiding from the Ukrainian mob boss he angered before being sent to prison. After a series of events, he finds himself taking the identity of the town's new sheriff, Lucas Hood, who was killed.

Banshee is a pretty unique town. It has an Amish population, some white rednecks, and a Native Indian tribe. That makes this town a perfect place for politics, secrets and drama.

And by the way, did I mention that Lucas Hood looks like this?

If you've read the news lately (or know any Veronica Mars fans), then you might have heard about the historic and record-breaking Kickstarter campaign that was started less than a week ago. The producer, Rob Thomas, came up with this plan to raise money for the movie's budget. It was a pretty smart idea because they couldn't get enough money from Warner Bros to fund the entire movie, and it also gauges the interest level for a Veronica Mars movie. It turns out that people really want a movie to happen. The goal of $2,000,000 was reached in just eleven hours, which meant the movie is officially in pre-production.

I was not one of the many Veronica Mars fans who have been waiting for six years. In fact, I just finished watching the show a few days before the Kickstarter campaign was announced. (Perfect timing!) Kelly had been telling me to watch Veronica Mars for YEARS but I never really got around to it until now. I have to agree with most people who have watched it: the first season was one of the most amazing seasons of television I've ever seen; Veronica Mars is awesome; Veronica and Logan's relationship is epic and; the series was cancelled too abruptly. Cancelled after the third season, the ending just fell short and unfinished. This movie will finally give all Veronica Mars fans a chance for closure.

If you haven't had a chance to watch Veronica Mars for yourself, check it out before the movie comes out in early 2014.
