I've finally caught up on all the episodes of Girls, although I don't know why it took me so long. Each episode is only half an hour long, and there have only been two seasons so far (ten episodes each).

For those who don't know,
Girls is a show on HBO about four girls in their twenties, trying to work through the difficult transition into adulthood. The show is well-known for it realistic portrayal of the struggles that girls through during that time of their life. Lena Dunham is the creator of the show, and also plays the main role of Hannah Horvath. I actually really dislike Hannah, for she is a selfish, arrogant, and just downright crazy. Because of her flaws in character, she caused many disturbances in her relations with friends and family, and I feel that the reason why she was brought to her mental downfall by the end of the second season. At that point, I started feeling bad for her because her parents were growing sick of her, her friends were dealing with their own issues, and acquaintances were calling her a horrible person. That's why the return of Adam by her side was actually quite relieving and heartwarming.

I think Adam and Hannah fit well with each other because they're both really weird. I hated Hannah for being stupid and ruining her relationship with him, and I'm hoping that they get back together in the third season (although that might be kind of boring to watch). Aside from Hannah, there's Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna. Marnie is Hannah's best friend, Jessa is a close second bestie, and Shoshanna is Jessa's cousin. They each have their own styles, quirks, and flaws that make them very different from each other, yet inherently connected.
Skylar Astin and Donald Glover were notable and surprising cameos in the first and second season, respectively. I wonder what other cameos there will be in the following season. I must say though that I have grown a really weird obsession with Skylar Astin lately and I am hoping for the return of his character on the show. It's totally possible - Shoshanna could bump into him again! =P
What I really like about this show is the
soundtrack! They place the soundtrack perfectly in conjunction with the scenes in a way that keeps the show feeling light and quirky despite the dark and depressing feel of it all. I find myself looking up the songs and listening to them again after certain episodes. Anyway, despite how much I dislike Hannah, I find myself wanting to know what happens to the girls in the next season so I am definitely anticipating the third season!
