Once Upon A Time - 2x05 The Doctor

  • Personally, I thought this was one of the better episodes of this sophomore slump season. Maybe because there was less cheesinesswith less scenes of Snow and Prince Charming? I used to love them but they're getting annoying with their virtues. Also any episode with less Henry is a good episode. That kid is the worst.
  • I had high hopes for Daniel coming back alive. If he could come back alive then there was a chance the Huntsman could come back! The show has gone downhill with the loss of Jamie Dornan and his come-and-go accent.
  • I'm so used to seeing Noah Bean on Nikita as a CIA agent. It's hilarious watching him be a posessed monster.

The Amazing Race - 21x05 Chill Out, Freak: Leg 5 - Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • The Sri Lankan girls are quickly becoming my favourites. Twinee! You two can continue annoying all the other teams with your constant cheering. I find it hilarious.
  • I really don't know why everyone chose to carry the bamboo. I would have went with the jute whipping and clearly it was the faster Road Block option.
  • I think I can cross off Bangladesh from my travel wishlist. There's no way I could survive there. Heat + dirtiness + massive crowds of people = no thanks

Revenge - 2x05 Forgiveness
  • Jennifer Jason Leigh has become one of those actresses I instantly hate. I blame Weeds. I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen with me and Margarita Levieva. I can't stand Fauxmanda Clarke.
  • Can Nolan please get a happy story? Don't screw him over Padma! (PS. Yay for GREEK alum, Dilshad Vadsaria!)
  • I'm ready for Mason Treadwell to stir up some trouble in the Hamptons.

The Walking Dead - 3x03 Walk With Me
  • I can't decide whether or not I like this Woodbury setting. If it's going to mean more talking episodes and Andrea making dumb decisions, then I'm against it. Just kill some more zombies please.
  • And an episode with no Norman Reedus will always be a bad episode. More dirty sexy Daryl please.

The Good Wife - 4x05 Waiting for the Knock
  • Wee-Bey and Bodie! The Wire reunion! Too bad they didn't have any scenes together.
  • I love Kalinda but this whole storyline with her ex-husband is getting real dull. Stop distracting her, go back to Canada, and let Kalina be her usual bad-ass self again. Too bad I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
  • I wish they would have a different type of scandal for Peter besides him sleeping with another woman. It gets old.

666 Park Avenue - 1x05 A Crowd of Demons
  • Preyzbylewski! I didn't realize how much I missed The Wire.
  • Brian needs to tell his wife the truth about Alexis and get her fired. She annoys me. But then again, he annoys me too. Robert Buckley is a good looking dude but man, he's such a loser on this show.
  • Vanessa Williams needs a better storyline than just being the wife to John Locke Gavin Doran. Do people not remember the awesomeness of Wilhemina Slater? She can do better than this!
  • I'm ready for 666 to start explaining some stuff. I still don't really understand who or what Gavin is. Is he the devil? Or does he work for the devil? Did they explain this before and I just missed it?
  • And the basement! It's been bothering me since the first episode. Why would a fancy building have the SCARIEST laundry room in the basement?? It's dark, there's flickering lights, and hidden rooms filled with creepy objects like a suitcase filled with a GHOST (or the black smoke followed John Locke, hehe). It's not like they don't have the cash to renovate.

Misfits - 4x01
  • The show just isn't the same anymore no matter how hard they try. I was okay when Nathan was off the show. I was devastated when Simon and Alisha were no longer returning. And now with Kelly gone too, all the best parts of Misfits are gone.
  • On the plus side, at least Seth returned. I don't know for how long though.
  • The two new characters did nothing for me. I didn't hate them but I don't care about them either. Next week's episode does look more interesting though.

My Sunday has gotten ridiculous. I still haven't watched this week's episode of Downton Abbey and Homeland. I also need to catch up on Dexter. I watched the new episode of  Happy Endings but it doesn't air until Wednesday in the US so I won't put up any spoilers.

The Mindy Project
Nashville

Shows I Watch When There's Nothing Else On
Ben and Kate

Shows on the Chopping Block
Emily Owens, M.D. (it's okay but it's on at the same time as other shows)
The Mob Doctor (something interesting needs to happen soon because this schtick is getting old)
The New Normal (I've just about had enough with Ryan Murphy's poorly disguised preaching on TV)

Shows I Gave Up On
Arrow (the hot abs weren't enough to keep me interested)
Partners (sorry Sophia Bush, I tried)
Revolution (cool concept but I couldn't care less about any of the characters)

There's a lot of half-hour sitcoms on TV these days. There's the ones that manage to catch large audiences, like The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men (which I have never watched a full episode of), 30 Rock, and The Office (back in the Steve Carrell days). And then there's the comedies that may not have the high viewership numbers but have a strong following online like Community, Parks and Recreation, and Happy Endings. And then there's the lesser known comedies that I want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on - the ones that don't get a lot of attention but manage to slide under the radar and stay on air. They're perfect for those lazy days when I have nothing to watch and I'm looking for something entertaining.

Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 - Tuesdays at 9:30pm on ABC
Okay, I admit, when I first heard about this show last year I thought it sounded incredibly stupid and the commercials featuring Krysten Ritter didn't help either since she came off as highly annoying. And then I found out that James Van Der Beek plays himself in it and I decided to give it a shot. I ended up watching every single episode. It's been known to happen with me. I like that it's a light show that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm still waiting for a Dawson's Creek reunion to happen on the show. One day!

Suburgatory - Wednesdays at 9:30pm on ABC (8:30pm on CityTV for Canada)
This is another series that I marathoned when I ran out of shows to watch. It's not the funniest show but it's consistently good. Having a few alumni from Saturday Night Live helps too. And there was a Clueless reunion last season with Alicia Silverstone and Jeremy Sisto!

Guys with Kids - Wednesdays at 8:30pm on NBC
When I was deciding what new shows to watch this season, Guys With Kids didn't make my cut. Fast forward to a few nights ago when I was lying in bed with my iPad looking for a show to watch before falling asleep. I wanted something fun (ie. no heavy dramas) and I've always liked Jesse Bradford since the good ol' Bring It On days so I decided to give the show a shot. I ended up watching all the episodes. There's a trend with me and these comedies if you haven't noticed. I didn't realize that Guys With Kids was co-created by Jimmy Fallon, who I love (random fact: we share birthdays!). I like that the premise of the show is simple, it's just 3 guy friends living in the same building with their kids and their wives. It reminds me a bit of comedies from the past like Friends and Seinfeld. It's good friends and good laughs. What more do you need in a comedy? Please watch it so it doesn't get cancelled!

Arrow
The pilot for Arrow wasn't too bad. I would call it a solid pilot in my book, but I don't know if it really appeals to me. The show is about the DC superhero, Green Arrow. I don't want to give away too much of the story because I think the pilot did a good job of covering everything you need to know about him (for now). Although I have nothing negative to say about the pilot, I have to say that it just wasn't my "cup of tea". But the workout scene was (see above).
Verdict: I'll give it another try but I'm not expecting to stick with this show for long

Parenthood - 4x05 There's Something I Need To Tell You

  • I cannot wait for Amber + Ryan. The fact that Mae Whitman is a big Friday Night Lights fan just makes it even better.
  • Seeing a kid get his first Little League hit in front of his adopted family can make me cry tears of happiness.
  • The words, "There's something I need to tell you" can make me bawl my eyes out. Thanks Parenthood, my tear ducts got a nice flushing this week.

The X Factor - 2x09 Boot Camp #3
  • I get really excited when there's Canadian content on American television. Playback did a cover of Down With Webster's "Rich Girl$"! I know it's a cover of a Hall & Oates song but I wish TV Line gave DWW some credit.
  • Painted on cheetah prints do not make you look cool. It just looks like you have some weird skin disease.
  • I don't know how those girls managed to stay calm in front of Nick Jonas let alone sing in front of him. That boy just gets hotter with age. He's 20, I can say that now without sounding creepy.

Nashville - 1x01 Pilot
  • The last song "If I Didn't Know Better" was so haunting and beautiful. Turns out The Civil Wars sang it years before, which explains why I liked it so much.
  • Hayden Panetierre plays a bitch so well. I don't think she's acting.
  • Lennon and Maisy Stella! I hope they get to sing in future episodes.
